Outlook 2016 delegate calendar not updating

When email messages and meeting requests are sent by a delegate on behalf of a manager, a copy of each item is saved in the delegate's Sent Items folder.As an alternative, the manager can grant permissions to his or her Sent Items folder to the delegate.Doing so will automatically open the other person's mailbox every time you open Outlook.The other mailbox appears in the Folder Pane beneath your Exchange mailbox folders.Using Delegate Access , you can give someone permission to act on your behalf.For example, you might have an assistant that you want to create and respond to meeting requests for you. Ever since upgrading, in Outlook 2016, I cannot open appointments on a shared calendar, nor can I open shared contacts or send an e-mail on behalf of someone else, even though I have those delegate rights.

I did leave outlook open overnight but it didn't sync anymore emails. You can grant a delegate permission to read items in your folders or to read, create, change, and delete items.
